Serious question, is the $35 'stainless steel' cleaner at the grocery store actually just lemon juice in a bottle?

I spent 8 bucks on a generic lemon spray after my countertops looked worse with that fancy cleaner and a neighbor who restores vintage RVs laughed at me and said the cheap stuff works better because the acid actually cuts through the grease, has anyone else found a secret cheap fix for something that companies overprice?

That "fancy cleaner" line got me because I fell for a $40 "professional grade" degreaser once and it was basically just citrus oil. My cousin works at a diner and she swears by mixing dish soap with warm water for the grill hoods, says the expensive stuff is just marketing. I bet someone's making bank selling lemon juice with a fancy label.

So your cousin at the diner just uses regular dish soap and hot water on the grease hoods and it actually works?
