That terrible Thursday when my washing machine flooded the kitchen

I finally gave in and replaced the rubber hose after ignoring the tiny crack for six months, because mopping up three inches of water at 6 AM was the wake-up call I needed. Has anyone else put off a simple fix until it turned into a disaster like this?

Six months is impressive, I would have just wrapped it in duct tape and called it a day.

Wouldn't a proper fix have saved you MORE hassle down the road though?
