Appreciation post: That $12 scrub daddy sponge that actually lasted 3 months

I kept buying those cheap yellow sponges from the dollar store for like a buck each but they'd get stinky and fall apart in a week. My sister told me to try a Scrub Daddy back in January and I was skeptical since $12 seemed like a lot for a sponge. Well here we are in April and the thing is still holding up fine, no weird smell, and it still scrubs without scratching my nonstick pans. Did I just get lucky or do these things actually last everyone else this long too?

Right there with you. Bought my first Scrub Daddy last summer and it was still going strong in November before I tossed it just because I felt like I should. The cheap sponges would stink up my sink after a week but this thing never got that funky smell even when I left it sitting wet.

lol you said "after 3 months" and "still holding up fine" but honestly I feel like you got lucky. I tried one and it started tearing at the edges by week 8, plus the texture got rough way before then. For $12 I'd rather just buy a 6 pack of the cheap ones and swap them out every week, feels like a better deal to me.
