Found out my coffee habit was costing me $80 a month at the local shop

I never really added up what I spend on coffee until last week. I grab a large latte from Brew & Bean on my way to work every weekday, $4.50 each time. Did the math and that's around $90 a month just for coffee. I thought about buying a decent french press for $25 instead and making my own at home. Tried it for 4 days now and honestly it tastes just as good. I still miss the barista's smile though. Anyone else cut a daily habit and actually save real money?

Oh wait $4.50 x 20 weekdays is actually $90 not $80.

Realized I was doing the same math wrong in my head, this really changed how I look at my daily spending.

Funny story, I had this same wake-up call but with my coffee habit. Turned out my daily latte was actually $5.75 with tax, not the $4.25 I had in my head. By the end of the month that's like a whole different number, lol. Made me actually look at the receipt for the first time in forever.
