Switched from paper towels to rags for cleaning counters and it changed my kitchen routine
I used to rip off three paper towels every time I wiped down my counters after dinner, spending maybe $15 a month on rolls. Then a friend told me to buy a pack of 12 cotton bar mop rags for $8 at Target and just toss them in the wash with my towels. Has anyone else made the switch and actually stuck with it or did you go back to paper?

The real game changer for me wasn't just saving money or the environment. It's that my rags actually hold more bacteria killing power than paper towels. I keep a spray bottle of diluted bleach water under my sink and hit the rag before I wipe. Paper towels just push the bacteria around since they dry out so fast. A damp rag with a little bleach actually kills stuff on contact. I've been doing this for about two years now and I haven't had a single counter related stomach bug. Plus I never have to buy paper towels for spills on the floor either.

Big time... I did the same thing about six months ago and haven't bought a single roll of paper towels since. My rags are way better at soaking up spills and I just bleach them in the wash every week.
