Tried name brand freezer bags vs dollar store ones side by side and wow what a difference
My wife kept buying the cheap ones from Family Dollar and I was getting so frustrated with frozen veggies getting freezer burn after like 2 weeks. Finally grabbed a box of Ziploc freezer bags during a sale at Kroger last Tuesday. Same bag of frozen broccoli. Week three in the name brand bag still looked fresh while the dollar store bag already had ice crystals forming. I get that $3 vs $1 per box feels like a lot but seriously how much food am I wasting? Anyone else find certain things are just worth paying a little more for?

Gotta be careful though, Ziploc bags aren't exactly the same as actual freezer bags.

I've always wondered if it's just the thickness or if there's something about the plastic itself that doesn't hold up as well. Is it really just about preventing freezer burn, or do they actually leak air faster over time?
