Used to think microwaving leftovers was fine until I tried the stovetop method last month
My buddy laughed at me for reheating pizza in the microwave, so I threw a slice in a cold skillet with a lid for 3 minutes. The crust came out crispy and the cheese melted perfect, now I never go back to the microwave for anything except coffee. Anybody else got a simple cooking trick that flipped your routine?

Totally get it. I used to nuke leftover Chinese food and wonder why the fried rice came out like wet sand. Tried the skillet method with a splash of water and a lid, night and day difference now the rice is fluffy again. That little trick alone saved me from a lot of sad lunches at my desk. It's wild how one simple change can make you feel like you've been doing it wrong your whole life.

Three days into my microwave revival, I realized my dad was heating up steak in it for 20 years straight, and I just assumed that's how steak tasted. Finally tried searing it in a cast iron with butter and garlic, and I felt like I wasted half my life eating rubber. Ngl, the microwave is basically just a glorified hot plate for my coffee now, and even then I only trust it for exactly 45 seconds or it tastes like regret. Honestly, the real trick is throwing a damp paper towel over your rice container before nuking it, but don't tell my skillet that because we're in a committed relationship.
