Debate: dealing with a broken zipper on a heavy coat at the bus stop
Last Tuesday in Chicago I had a coat zipper break at 6am. 20 degrees out. Two choices: duck tape it shut or find a seamstress. Taping took 2 minutes but looked awful. Finding a tailor cost me 45 minutes and 12 bucks. Which route is less annoying when you're already late?

Duck tape is the move. You're already late and freezing, no time to hunt down a tailor for 12 bucks. Ugly zipper wins over frostbite every time.

Wait, you're seriously suggesting duck tape over a $12 fix?
