Hit 50 days of flossing in a row and my hygienist didn't scold me for once

I realized I'd been flossing wrong for 12 years (you're supposed to curve it around each tooth, not just snap it between them) after my hygienist stopped mid-cleaning and asked who taught me that horrible habit.

and honestly that's the perfect reaction because nobody tells you this stuff. i swear @finleyl55 we're all out here doing things the hard way for years before someone casually drops "oh you're supposed to do it like this" and your whole world tilts. its like when i found out you're supposed to sharpen a knife on the blade facing away from you not towards. who decides these rules anyway? feels like half of life is just waiting for someone to point out the basic stuff nobody bothered to mention.

Wait you're telling me I've been doing it wrong too? I always just snapped it straight through like a floss saw and thought that was good enough. My hygienist has probably been judging me silently for years and I never even knew.
