Honestly, I used to think people who complained about grocery store music were just being picky

Tbh, I was at the Fred Meyer on 82nd yesterday and this song about buying a boat came on for the third time in 20 minutes. My friend Mark just looked at me and said, 'If I hear that chorus one more time, I'm leaving the avocados.' Ngl, it clicked that it's not the music itself, it's the same five songs on a loop that slowly drives you nuts. Anyone else have a store playlist that makes you want to shop faster?

My local hardware store plays the same country ballad about lost love and a pickup truck so often I've started mouthing the words to the plumbing supplies (it's a weird look). You just hit a point where your brain can't take the repeat anymore.

Read somewhere that stores actually choose songs that slow you down so you buy more, which somehow makes the loop even more annoying. @riverm48 nailed it with that comment about the broken playlist, it's like they're all in on the same joke.
