I was dead wrong about those expensive noise-cancelling earbuds
For years I thought paying over $100 for earbuds was a scam. I stuck with my $20 wired ones from the drugstore. Then my neighbor let me borrow his Sony WF-1000XM4s for a week. I took them on the bus downtown and suddenly couldn't hear the engine or the guy on his phone next to me. That sold me. I bought a pair last Tuesday and now I can't go back. Has anyone else had a product they mocked turn out to be worth every penny?

Oh man, I was the exact same way with my kitchen gadgets. I laughed at my sister for spending $60 on a garlic press. Like, just chop it with a knife, right? Then I used hers and it took me literally two seconds to press a whole bulb without sticky garlic fingers. Now I have one and I'm that person who brings it to family gatherings. Guess who's not laughing now, me with my perfect garlic paste.

Oh man, you nailed it. I had the same fight with my spouse over a $40 garlic press. I kept telling them it was a waste because a knife does the job. Then one Christmas they bought it for me as a joke, and I swear I've used it almost every day since. The trick is to not overthink it - just press the garlic without peeling first, it pops right out of the skin. But you gotta clean it right away, let it sit and that garlic paste hardens like cement. I learned that the hard way when I had to soak mine overnight.
