My dentist friend dropped a truth bomb about flossing

He straight up said most people don't need to floss everyday unless they have tight spaces between teeth. That hit different because I've been guilt-tripping patients for years about skipping a day. Anyone else hear something that made you question everything you thought was true?

That really hit home with me too. Took a nutrition class that basically said the same thing about cutting out all sugar forever being overkill for most people. Realized the guilt was worse than the actual habit slip ups.

lol @jones.angela you're so right about that guilt thing. I had a buddy who tried that full sugar detox thing for like 3 months and he was miserable the whole time. He'd beat himself up over having a single cookie at a party and then just binge on junk food the next day because he felt like he already messed up. Finally his doctor told him to just chill and have a small treat now and then without the whole guilt spiral. He dropped the all or nothing mindset and actually started eating way better overall. The mental load of being perfect was way worse than just having a little sugar sometimes.
