My fancy coffee machine gave up the ghost this morning, right before my first meeting.
I was counting on that espresso to function, but the thing just flashed an error code and started making a sound like a dying robot, so I had to chug cold brew from a carton instead.

My old Saeco machine did that same thing last year. The error code is usually a simple fix, like a clogged brew group. Unplug it for a full ten minutes, then run a cleaning cycle with a descaling tablet. That often resets the brain. If not, the model number and error code will get you the right manual online.

Actually, unplugging it can sometimes mess with the memory even more. I've seen those cleaning cycles just push gunk deeper into the system.

Honestly my buddy had that exact error on his Saeco. He unplugged it for like twenty minutes and ran a cleaning cycle, totally fixed it. Tbh I'd try that before anything else.
