My neighbor pointed out my recycling bin was a mess
She said, 'Finley, your bin is so full of stuff that isn't clean, they might skip the whole thing.' I mean, she was right, I was just tossing in rinsed cans and jars. So now I make sure everything is actually clean and dry before it goes out on Tuesday. Has anyone else had their pickup skipped for something like that?

My buddy had his whole bin left behind because a greasy pizza box was on top. The driver actually left a note saying "contaminated load" on the lid. He had to wait two weeks for the next pickup with that full bin sitting there.

That "contaminated load" note is rough, I always tear off the greasy top of pizza boxes now.

Oh man, that's brutal! I would be so embarrassed if a driver left me a note like that. I mean, who knew recycling had such strict rules about pizza boxes? I'm over here thinking I'm being a good citizen and they're just shaking their heads at my greasy mess. Now I'm that person nervously tearing off the top quarter of every box before tossing it in, like some kind of pizza box surgeon. Guess I'll join the club of people who obsess over grease spots instead of just eating the pizza like a normal human.
