My Tuesday was ruined by a single, mysteriously sticky door handle

Every time I grabbed it, my hand came away with this gross, tacky residue that took two rounds of Googling and a bottle of Goo Gone to fix. Has anyone else had a random household surface just decide to become a glue trap?

Totally feel your pain, my kitchen cabinet pulls did that last month. Figured out it was the finish breaking down from hand sanitizer residue over time. A mix of dish soap and warm water got most of it off before I had to bring out the big guns. Sticky mystery surfaces are the worst kind of surprise.

Ever think about what you cleaned with last? Sometimes a spray cleaner leaves a film that turns sticky. I had that happen on my fridge handle. Wiped it down with rubbing alcohol on a paper towel. Came right off. Might save you the Goo Gone next time.
