Rant: My kitchen sink drain clog took two hours to fix last night

I thought it would be a quick job with the plunger, but the clog was way down the pipe past the P-trap. I ended up having to take apart the whole assembly under my sink in my apartment, which was a greasy mess. Has anyone else had a simple fix turn into a huge project like that?

Wait you had to take apart the whole thing in an apartment? That's wild lol. My landlord would kill me if I tried that. Two hours dealing with greasy pipes sounds like the worst way to spend an evening. I would have given up and just called someone after the first hour, for real. That kind of stuff always looks easy until you're in way over your head.

Ngl the pipes weren't that greasy, it was mostly just old food gunk. Honestly the worst part was just the smell.
