So I walked into a Starbucks in downtown Portland last Saturday and waited 22 minutes for a black coffee while six mobile orders jumped the line.
The barista just shrugged and said 'those get priority' like that's a normal way to treat people standing right in front of you, has anyone else dealt with this insane mobile order system taking over?

it's honestly a broken system at this point because the baristas have zero control over it. i was told by a former sbux worker that the mobile orders print on a seperate ticket system that overrides everything, so even if you're standing there with cash, their till literally won't let them ring you up until they clear the queue. the real issue is starbucks is basically running a ghost kitchen inside their cafes now, treating in-person customers like an afterthought. like you paid to be there in line, but a mobile order from 5 miles away gets to cut you just because they clicked a button.

Brooke, switching to a local coffee shop fixed this for me. They prioritize walk-ins.
