Rant: Bought a digital hoof angle gauge that was a total waste of $300
Back in 2019, I got sold on this fancy digital gauge that promised perfect measurements every time. It worked okay in the shop, but out in a muddy field or a cold barn, the screen would freeze or get dirty and become useless. I probably used it for three months before it just sat in my truck. Ended up going back to my trusty protractor and my eye, which never failed me. Anyone have a reliable digital tool they actually use on the job, or is it all just hype?

Ugh, my phone does the same thing in the cold.

My old iPhone 6 would shut down at 20% battery if it was below freezing. I started keeping it in an inside jacket pocket when walking outside. That little bit of body heat makes a big difference. If it does die, warm it up slowly next to your skin before trying to charge it.

My Samsung S10 would drop from 40% to dead in five minutes during a Chicago winter. The battery chemistry just can't handle the cold, so it lies about the charge left. Keeping it in a pocket close to your body is basically the only fix.
