Refusing to trim a hoof that was already too short
Honestly, the owner got mad when I said no to more cutting. Tbh, showing them the pink line made it clear why waiting was better.

Respect you for sticking to your guns on that call. Some owners just don't get how waiting prevents a worse injury later. You made the right professional choice.

Ever have one of those days where you're the villain for preventing a disaster? I'm basically the king of 'sorry, not sorry' when it comes to stuff like this. Once nicked a quick on a trim years ago and learned the hard way how bad it can get. Showing that pink line isn't just about saying no, it's about showing them the real risk of pushing it. If you cut too short, you're looking at a lame horse and a huge vet bill, so waiting is literally the only move. Better a pissed owner now than a hurt animal later, that's my line and I'm sticking to it.
