Tried a different nail clinching angle after a clinic last month
I've been clinching at a 45 degree angle for like 8 years. Old timer at the clinic showed me a 30 degree angle and it holds way better on these thin soled horses I've been dealing with. Anyone else mess with their clinch angle or am I overthinking it?

Yeah, that 30 degree angle tip sounds a lot like what a farrier buddy of mine showed me a few years back. I was stuck on 45 degrees for the longest time too, and I always had issues with clinches loosening up on these lighter horses with thin soles. Switching to a shallower angle made a huge difference. It seems like the clinch just bites into the wall better and stays put, especially when the hoof wall isn't as thick. Have you noticed any difference in how fast the clinch wears down on the road?
