Tried a new rasp brand from a trade show last month and the thing wore down before I finished two hooves

Spent $45 on that fancy forged rasp from the Midwest farrier expo and it went dull halfway through a draft horse, has anyone else had that happen with a supposedly premium tool?

Forty five bucks for a rasp that dies on two hooves? Man I gotta call that out respectfully. I've been using the same cheap Nicholson for three years and it still bites better than most of those boutique brands. Something ain't right with your technique or that rasp got swapped at the show.

Bought a "diamond edge" file from a guy at a clinic once and it was dull before I got back to the truck... pretty sure he sold me a display model that had been sitting in the sun for three years.
