Watched a horse go from a lame, stumbling mess to a smooth mover in just under 6 weeks after we finally addressed a severe medial-lateral imbalance that three previous guys had missed.
The owner in Bend, Oregon was ready to put the gelding down, but a proper set of radiographs and a balanced trim with a rolled toe and appropriate heel support made all the difference, so when did you last see a case that was misdiagnosed for that long?

That line about three previous guys missing the imbalance really hits home. I used to be pretty skeptical about how much a trim could really change a horse's way of going. Figured if they were that lame, it was a bone or joint issue, period. But seeing a horse that was tripping over its own feet turn around completely after a correct balance... it makes you question everything you thought you knew. What was the biggest clue for you that it was a balance problem and not something worse?

Watched a friend's horse move like it was walking on eggshells, all stiff and short. The farrier pointed out how one heel was way higher, throwing the whole leg out of line. Two weeks after a good trim, that horse was striding out like nothing ever hurt.

...and then my buddy spent three grand on shockwave before realizing the trim was off by an eighth of an inch.
