Last Tuesday I finally dug out my grandmother's old sewing patterns from 1963

Found a box of Simplicity patterns in my basement from when she made her own clothes back then, and the styles are SO different from what I see now. Has anyone else tried adapting vintage patterns for modern fabrics like stretch denim?

Wait, didn't those 1960s patterns usually call for woven fabrics instead of knits? Stretch denim has a lot more give than what they designed for back then, so you might need to size down or adjust the seams. Just a heads up so you don't end up with a dress that's too loose in all the wrong places.

Nah @torres.leo, I think you might be overthinking it a bit. Stretch denim is forgiving, sure, but you can always just take in the seams or add darts if it's too loose. It's not like the whole project will fall apart or something. People act like sewing a dress is rocket science sometimes. You just adjust as you go, that's the whole point of making your own clothes. Honestly, worst case you wear a slightly baggy dress, who cares. It's not that serious.
