Natural fabrics vs synthetics for summer dresses, no contest

After three summers of buying cheap polyester sundresses from the mall, I finally switched to 100% cotton and linen last year. I live in Texas where it hits 100 degrees regularly, and synthetic fabrics just trap sweat against your skin. My first linen dress cost me $45 at a local boutique, and I wore it 20 times before September. The difference in breathability is huge. I don't get heat rash anymore and the natural fibers actually keep me cool. Have you guys had similar luck with cotton or linen pieces over polyester blends?

Cotton is good but linen breathes way better than cotton in humid heat, you won't get that same airflow with standard cotton tees.

+1 on linen for hot weather. @jones.blake nailed it about airflow, but something nobody brings up is how linen actually wicks moisture away from your body in a way cotton can't touch when you're sweating through a humid afternoon.
