Saw two groups of designers at the LA Textile Show last week with totally opposite takes on digital prints

I was walking through the booths at the LA Textile Show last week and noticed one group swearing by hand painted fabrics, saying digital prints lack soul. Then right next door, another designer was showing off a fully digital line they made in under 2 days. Is there a middle ground here or do you have to pick a side? I'm trying to figure out where to spend my next $500 on fabric samples.

Right? It's crazy because you see the same thing everywhere now. People crank out a whole custom bike in a weekend or throw together an entire website before lunch. It's like the old rule of "it takes a month to do anything good" just got thrown out the window (and I'm not complaining, honestly).
