That $200 wool coat I grabbed from a thrift shop in Portland totally saved me this winter

I was walking past a Goodwill near my school in November and spotted a Pendleton coat for 40 bucks. It's got a small stain on the sleeve but the wool is super thick and it's held up through rain and snow for the last 3 months. Has anyone else stumbled on a designer piece that was way cheaper than it should have been and actually worked out better than the new stuff?

Wait, you're actually arguing that a 40 dollar thrift find is better than a quality coat that's built to last years? That's not how it works. Those cheap thrift coats are a gamble, sometimes they fall apart after one season.

That 40 bucks vs 200 bucks math is just beautiful. I found a barely worn Patagonia puffer at a Salvation Army for 25 bucks and it's kept me warmer than any coat I've ever bought new, so I feel this deep in my soul. Score one for the thrift gods.

Respectfully, a $200 coat can outlast ten $40 ones in my experience.
