Always thought you needed fancy tools for that stuff, but painter's tape is a legit lifesaver.

Kept a whole bolt of the blue tape around when I was mocking up patterns for a cosplay. Saved me so much time not having to recut fabric every time I changed my mind. It's basically duct tape's smarter cousin.
