I just realized everyone at my office orders the wrong thing from the taco place down the street.
For months, I watched people get the basic chicken burrito and complain it was dry. I finally tried their chicken quesadilla last week and it's a total game changer. They use the same chicken, but the cheese and tortilla keep it moist. Now I'm the weirdo trying to tell my coworkers they've been picking the wrong menu item this whole time. Does anyone else have a go-to order that's way better than the obvious choice?

Ever try to convince people their favorite thing is wrong? I'm the king of awkward lunchtime advice now.

I saw a study last year where 70% of people double down on their opinion when you tell them their favorite movie is bad. That's the exact vibe you're describing, @robinson.jake. Trying to argue about someone's personal taste just makes everyone dig in harder. It's a sure way to make a lunch break real quiet.

Wait @robinson.jake is your lunch convo really that awkward? I actually think the taco place thing is more about hidden gems than telling people they're wrong. Like the chicken quesadilla situation, my go-to at the Thai spot near my apartment is the drunken noodles instead of the pad thai everyone orders. Way less sweet, more spicy, and the noodles have that charred wok taste. Once you find that one hidden thing on any menu, it's hard not to want to share it with the rest of the group, even if it makes you look a little obsessed.
