Why does nobody talk about how much ice you actually get in your drink

I was at a Wendy's in Phoenix last week and decided to weigh my large soda before drinking it. Turns out nearly half the cup was just ice. When I poured it out and measured the liquid, I only got about 12 ounces of actual soda instead of the 30 ounces they advertise. That felt like a rip-off honestly. I get that ice keeps things cold but do they really need to fill it up that much? I started noticing it at other places too like McDonald's and Burger King. Has anyone else actually measured their drink to see what you're really getting?

Hmm actually a large Wendy's soda is 30 ounces total including the ice.

Yeah right "30 ounces total including the ice" that's exactly their argument but that's the whole problem lol. If I'm paying for a large soda I want 30 ounces of soda not 30 ounces of ice water mixture. I measured mine at McDonalds too and a large there is supposed to be 32 ounces but I poured out barely 14 ounces of actual drink. That's less than a medium cup in some places. They're basically selling you a cup of ice with a splash of soda and calling it a large. I started ordering without ice at fast food places and you can literally see the cashier hesitate for a second like they're not sure if they're allowed to do that.
