Heard a guy at the supply yard in Bakersfield say he never uses a torque wrench on gate hinges. That's a quick way to a callback.

Honestly, just hit them with some WD-40 and let it sit for a bit. Tbh, sometimes the gunk gets in there and you gotta really work it in. A little wiggle back and forth usually does the trick.

Man, that's just asking for trouble down the line. @robert_roberts is right about the WD-40 trick, but you gotta think about how those hinges settle over time... a little torque goes a long way to keep everything tight and avoid that saggy gate look later on.
