I finally gave those plastic post caps a shot on a vinyl fence

Always thought they looked cheap, but a client insisted on them for their whole backyard project. After a year, they haven't faded or cracked at all, even with our sun. Anyone have a go-to brand for these that holds up?

My neighbor spent a fortune on those brass-plated caps that looked like tiny crowns for his fence, and now they're all pitted and green. So your client might be onto something even if it hurts to admit it. Funny how the stuff that looks the worst on the shelf ends up being the workhorse, right? Almost makes you wonder if the whole "looks expensive" thing is just a marketing trick to sell you junk that'll fail in a year.

Guess the client was right for once. I still think they look like something from a kids playset, but you can't argue with results. Hard to complain about a product that just works.

Totally get that! Some of the best tools look like they came from a preschool toy box. My old coffee grinder was a bright blue plastic thing that sounded like a toy, but it ground beans perfectly for years. Function over fancy looks any day.
