Picked up a used post hole digger at an auction in Des Moines and it saved me 3 hours on a job last week
I was working on a 200 foot run for a horse property near Johnston and my old digger kept binding up in the clay. This used one has hydraulic downforce and it cut through like butter. Anyone else get a good deal on secondhand gear that actually worked better than you expected?

Man I hear you on that! I snagged a used stump grinder off Facebook Marketplace last spring for like half the price of new and that thing has been a lifesaver on rocky ground where my old one would just bounce off. Sometimes you just stumble onto the right piece of equipment that was clearly built better than the new junk they push now. Did you have to do any repairs on that digger before it worked good or was it ready to go right out of the gate?

Snagged a good older rototiller once that outlasted three newer ones, some things just got built tougher back then.
