That $400 auger rental was a total game changer for a rocky hillside job
I had a job last month putting in a line of cedar posts on a slope full of old river rock. My hand digger was just bouncing off, and I was looking at a full week of misery. The rental place talked me into their big two-man gas auger with the heavy duty rock bit. It was about $400 for the weekend, which hurt at first. But we got all 30 holes done in a day and a half, clean and straight. The machine handled the small stones like they were nothing, and for the bigger ones, we just worked around them. I would have lost money on that job without it. Has anyone else found a specific tool rental that saved their skin on a tough site?

Got a mini excavator from Sunbelt last year to pull out an old stump. Thing was way faster than digging by hand and saved my weekend. Renting the right tool makes any big yard job feel possible.
