Warning: I'm not sold on those new composite fence boards everyone's pushing

I put up a section with them next to cedar on a job in Spokane last fall, and the cedar just looks better after one winter. The composite didn't warp, but it got this weird chalky film that pressure washing barely touched. Anyone have a good cleaner that actually works on that stuff?

Sounds like the composite boards are winning the battle against warping but losing the war against looking decent lol. That chalky film is the worst, it's like the material is trying to sweat out its plastic origins. Good luck finding a cleaner that works, you might need some industrial stuff.

Ugh, that chalky film is the worst. I had the same thing on a client's deck. I mean, nothing basic worked for me either. I ended up using a mix of warm water, a little bit of dish soap, and a good amount of white vinegar, scrubbed it with one of those stiff deck brushes. It took some elbow grease but it cut through most of that weird haze. Maybe give that a shot before you buy some harsh chemical.
