My old crock pot gave me better ferments than this fancy new setup I bought
I upgraded to a digital fermentation station last year with temp control and everything, cost me like $180. Thought it would make perfect kraut and kimchi every time. But my stuff kept coming out mushy or not sour enough compared to what I used to make in my grandma's old 70s crock pot. Turns out the slow, natural temp swings in my pantry were doing something the steady 68 degrees wasn't. I switched back to the crock pot for cabbage ferments and got that perfect crunch and tang back within 2 batches. Has anyone else had better luck with simple gear over the high tech stuff?

Used to be all about the gadgets but now I'm starting to agree with you.

The Galaxy Fold 2 changed my mind too, honestly.

Just put the phone down and used my laptop for a few weeks straight. Got me back to focusing on work instead of constantly checking specs and features. The old setup still works fine when I stop overthinking it.
