Heard a couple at the hardware store talking about their inspection report

I was picking up some light bulbs at Home Depot on Saturday and overheard a young couple talking to a worker in the plumbing aisle. They were holding a printed inspection report and pointing at a line item about 'galvanized supply lines.' The worker explained that those old pipes can rust from the inside out and cause low water pressure or even leaks. The guy just looked at his partner and said, 'So the house looks fine, but the stuff we can't see could be a real problem.' It really hit me that as a first timer, you're so focused on paint colors and kitchen layouts that the big stuff hides in the walls. I've been saving for a down payment for about two years now, but I never thought to learn about plumbing materials or electrical panels. How do you even start to learn what to look for in those inspection reports before you make an offer?

My realtor just sends me the report and I trust the inspector they hired.

Yikes, my buddy did that and his inspector totally missed a cracked foundation! It cost him thousands later. Always get your own person.
