A homeowner in Tacoma said my quarter-round looked 'pinched' at the corners

They pointed out how the miter joints were closing up too tight, leaving a tiny gap at the top. I was using my usual 45-degree cuts on everything. Now I always back-cut the miters by about 2 degrees on quarter-round, especially on older baseboards that aren't perfectly straight. Anyone else adjust their angle for trim like that?

Ugh, I've had that same problem with my own trim work...

Yeah, my buddy had to do that too. He found a whole family of mice living in his couch, it was wild lol.
