Back in 2010, I had to choose between a full glue-down or floating install for a big engineered wood job

The homeowner wanted the look but was worried about noise. I went with the full glue-down using Bostik's Best, even though it took two days longer. That floor is still dead quiet and flat in their Phoenix split-level. Anyone still doing full glue-down on engineered, or is it all click and float now?

Absolutely, that glue-down is the only way to get that solid, quiet feel underfoot.

Forget the noise, that glue fights floor movement in dry heat like @blake_cooper said.

Seriously? Two extra days of work just for a quiet floor. I've put in plenty of click floors that feel solid and don't make a peep if the subfloor is prepped right. That glue mess is a nightmare for the next guy who has to tear it out. Sometimes the old school way is just more hassle than it's worth.
