Vent: I thought those new click-lock vinyl planks were just a cheap gimmick

A client in Boise insisted on using them for a whole basement job last month, and I was sure we'd be back for callbacks. We laid down about 800 square feet of the stuff, and honestly, the locking system was rock solid and the install was stupid fast. Has anyone else been surprised by a product they used to write off completely?

I was the same way with those cheap paint sprayers from the big box stores. Made fun of them for years until a buddy made me try one on a fence. Now I own two and my roller collection is gathering dust.

Keep a cheap sprayer just for primer and another for top coats. Saves you from cleaning between every single project. Learned that after gumming up a sprayer trying to switch from oil-based primer to latex paint. Now my rollers are just for touch-ups and corners the sprayer can't reach.
