Just hit 100 days of putting hot sauce on my morning oatmeal
Started as a joke after a dare from my roommate, but now I can't stop. The combo of spicy Cholula with plain oats and a bit of honey is weirdly perfect. It started tasting normal around day 30, and by day 70 I was adding extra jalapenos. Hit the triple digits this morning and my roommate just stared at me in horror. Anyone else have a weird food habit that just stuck?
Your body might be building up a tolerance to capsaicin, which is why you needed the jalapenos. It's the same reason people add more hot sauce over time. You've basically trained your mouth to handle more heat.
I used to think putting hot sauce on oatmeal was just wrong, but my son got me to try a dash of Tabasco in my grits last year. Now I understand the appeal of that spicy and savory mix with something plain. It really grows on you.
