Jogging past park benches gave me a new idea for modular design elements

I saw how the benches were arranged in different patterns, and it clicked that I could use similar modular pieces in my UI designs. Each bench was like a component that could be rearranged for various layouts. This approach has made my work more flexible and easier to update, lol.

So have you tested different arrangements to see what works best for users? Like maybe trying a dashboard where you can drag around the info cards, or a product page where you move the image gallery and details box. You could find out if putting the search bar at the top works better than the side. It lets you change things fast based on what people actually click on.

That's a solid point from @bethl95 about moving stuff around to see what sticks. When you run those click tests, how do you actually decide a new layout is better? Like, is it just about more clicks, or do you watch for where people get stuck?
