Unpopular opinion: After all this time, I'm convinced the Mary Celeste crew just overreacted to a small leak. Feels good to have my own take settled.

Honestly, that's a bit too simple for such a weird mystery. A small leak doesn't explain why they left all their stuff and never came back. Tbh, something spooked them bad enough to abandon ship completely.

Exactly, people don't just walk off a good boat for no reason. I was on a friend's cabin cruiser that seemed totally fine, but he found a stress crack below the waterline the next day. The situation can look calm right up until the second it isn't.
