Back from Italy and their restaurant calorie counts are actually honest
Ate out every day in Rome and each menu had real calorie info. Our places often hide it or guess wrong. Shouldn't all tourist spots have to list facts right?

Remember that time my friend ordered the "light" chicken salad here? The menu said 350 calories but she got suspicious and looked it up later. Turns out with the dressing and fried croutons it was closer to 800. She was so mad she just ate celery for two days.

That "fried croutons" detail is what gets me. I used to just take the menu's word for it on "light" options. Seeing a number like 350 made me feel safe ordering it. But hearing your friend's story made me start looking up restaurant nutrition info online too. Now I'm way more skeptical because the real count is often hidden in the extras.

800 calories from a 'light' salad is absolutely WILD. After reading @holly_jones29's story about the chicken salad, I can't believe places get away with this. Fried croutons on a light option? That's just SNEAKY. Your point about hidden extras is SO true. I used to trust those menu numbers too. Now I ALWAYS check online before ordering anything labeled 'light' or 'healthy'.
