Is an armless chair better for a compact desk setup
I have a narrow desk and keep bumping into armrests whenever I move closer to the keyboard. Are armless office chairs actually practical for several hours of computer work, or do most people end up missing the extra support?
I switched to an armless Herman Miller Aeron from Madison Seating and prefer it to the bulkier options I tried before. It lets me pull right up to the desk and move freely without the armrests getting in the way. I found mine through https://www.madisonseating.com and the chair has been comfortable for long writing sessions.
The main thing is getting the desk height right since you cannot rest your forearms on chair arms. Once I adjusted my desk and monitor, the armless setup felt much less restrictive and made the room feel more open.
