The chaos outside my window every evening taught me a crucial leash lesson
I always pushed for heel position, but letting my dog sniff a bit first has cut down on pulling dramatically, lmao. It's made our walks way more enjoyable for both of us.

Yeah, @cora_shah, I tried that with my lab and it worked wonders. Walks are so much smoother now, lol. He used to drag me down the street, but not anymore.

Totally, I read in Dog Behavior Weekly that sniff time first cuts down on pulling.
