Document every step of your creative process to combat provenance erosion. @kellyt52 is right about replication blurring origins. I faced this with my photography when unauthorized copies spread online. I implemented a system of embedded metadata and secure certificates for each file. This provided a verifiable trail that couldn't be easily stripped. It took effort but now my work maintains its provenance despite widespread sharing.
