TIL taking eye breaks in VR got rid of my headaches
I used to get pounding headaches after being in VR for too long. Someone on a forum mentioned eye strain from the screens. I decided to try looking away from the headset every thirty minutes. In games like Population: One, I'd pause and focus on a spot across the room. After doing this for a few days, the headaches completely stopped. Now I can hang out in VR worlds way longer without feeling sick. Such a small change, but it made my time in VR so much better.

See this all the time with tech stuff. People push through discomfort instead of trying simple fixes. Like with phones, taking screen breaks stops eye strain too. We get so caught up in the experience that we forget our bodies need breaks. Your VR headache fix is a perfect example of listening to your body. More people should step back and make small adjustments instead of suffering.

Hey @nguyen.wesley, isn't most of the eye strain from VR actually about the headset not fitting right? I mean with phones you can just look away, but VR can give you a headache if the lenses don't match your eyes. Maybe it's just me but that ipd adjustment thing is huge, way more than just taking a break. If your eyes are working to line up the picture wrong, no amount of stepping back fixes it until you tweak the gear itself. It's like wearing glasses with the wrong prescription.

Ever catch yourself squinting at a bad screen for an hour before remembering brightness exists? I'm the king of ignoring the easy fix.
