Just realized my squat form was copying my toddler's shaky stance

I was doing squats at the gym and glanced in the mirror. My knees were wobbling in and out with each rep. It hit me that it looked just like my kid trying to balance on one foot. I had to stop and laugh at how ridiculous it was. So I focused on keeping my knees steady over my toes. Now I picture him teetering to remind me to stay solid. It's funny how a simple visual cue fixed my form.

That "teetering" visual is so good! I use my kid's wobbly walk to remember to keep my core tight during lunges too. Funny how those little mental pictures just click for form fixes.

Totally! Those simple pictures just work better than overthinking the move. I do the same thing imagining a string pulling my head up for deadlifts. It's crazy how the mind-body link needs a dumb little story to work right.

Lol that visual is gold! But heads up, wobbly knees often mean your core isn't braced hard enough. Picture bracing for a gut punch, not just sucking in. @dixon.nathan is onto something with the string idea for posture, but you gotta lock everything from your ribs down. Imagine your whole trunk is a solid block, like a tree trunk in the wind, not just your knees over toes. That fixed my own shaky squat game for real.
