Update: Quit swirling my wine before sipping out of impatience
Now all the flavors seem muddled and I'm kicking myself.

Tbh, I wonder if the muddled taste is because the wine didn't get to open up. Swirling lets air in, which brings out the smells and flavors. When you skip it, all those notes are still stuck together. Honestly, it's like trying to hear a song with the volume too low, you miss the details. I've rushed through a glass before and it always tastes flat.

Last week, my friend Alex poured a glass of red wine and didn't swirl it at all. He said it tasted flat, but after I told him to give it a good swirl, he was surprised by the difference. Makes you wonder how often we miss out by rushing, right?

Try swirling your wine next time. I learned the hard way when I rushed a glass and it tasted flat, but after swirling, it was like a whole new drink. @cameron_harris20 is spot on about the volume thing.
