I finally learned why that GE washer keeps throwing F7E1 codes
Had a customer in Tacoma call me out for the third time on the same machine. Same error code every visit, or so I thought. Last time I was there I replaced the shift actuator and the drain pump, figured that had to be it. This time I decided to actually sit and watch the whole cycle instead of just testing parts. Turns out the machine was throwing the code randomly, sometimes at the start of spin, sometimes mid cycle. I noticed the lid lock was clicking twice before it settled. That second click was the catch, it was a worn out plastic ramp on the lid itself, not the lock assembly. $14 part on Amazon, 20 minutes with a screwdriver, and it's been three weeks with zero callbacks. I know everyone says to check the actuator first, and that's still good advice, but has anyone else seen the lid ramp cause this on the 2019 and newer GE models?
